Columbia Bible Church is Christ-centered, biblically minded, and theologically conservative. We hold Christ high as He is God incarnate, the Messiah, and Savior of all those who put their faith in Him. We believe and teach that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and we use a literal, grammatical-historical method of interpretation. We teach sound doctrine that promotes a high view of God, a right view of man, and repentance and saving faith in Jesus Christ alone.
CBC desires to be purposeful and deliberate in all we do. With this in mind, we see our purpose as a church being lived out in the three following areas:
Ministry towards God
In relationship to God, the church’s purpose is to worship Him. Worship is a direct expression of our ultimate purpose for living, to glorify God and fully enjoy Him forever.
Ministry toward Believers
In relationship to God’s people, the church’s purpose is to strengthen, support, and build up believers to maturity in the faith.
(Galatians 5:13; Colossians 1:28; Ephesians 4:12-13)
Ministry toward the World
In relationship to the lost, the church’s purpose is to proclaim and live the gospel as a witness for Jesus Christ to the world.
(Matthew 28:18-20; Colossians 4:5-6)
All three elements are essential and none can be neglected; a healthy church will continually emphasize and be effective in all three ministries.
